The Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) has selected Jeffrey P. Arakelian, RCE as chief executive officer, effective September 18, 2017.
Jeff Arakelian currently serves as CEO of the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors® in Connecticut, a position he has held for 20 years. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Rhode Island and is a Realtor® Association Certified Executive (RCE).
“I’m excited to become part of an outstanding Realtor® Association and to help navigate the organization into the future,” Arakelian stated. “I am especially looking forward to getting to know the leadership and membership of RASM, as well as the Sarasota and Manatee communities.”
His appointment culminates several months of work by a search committee to recruit a successor for CEO Kathy Roberts, set to retire later this year.
“We found Jeff to be innovative and results-oriented, with strong leadership skills and a good reputation in the industry,” said 2017 RASM President Xena Vallone. “His long background with Realtor® Associations has prepared him for this next chapter in his career.”
Roberts will work with Arakelian for a short transition period and then finish her term by working on various projects. Robert’s official retirement date is December 31, 2017.
