SARASOTA, FL (July 13, 2016) – The Leadership Academy of the Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) is presenting an Affordable Housing Lunch & Learn with speaker Jaimie Ross, President and CEO of the Florida Housing Coalition.
The RASM Leadership Academy is designed to train emerging Realtor® leaders who want to get involved, make a difference and expand their leadership skills. Each year, a new class of leaders completes a project of their choice. The initiative of the 2016 class is to bring awareness to the William E. Sadowski Affordable Housing Act.
In 1991, Ross initiated the broad-based coalition that successfully advocated the passage of the Sadowski Act, providing a dedicated revenue source for affordable housing in Florida. She continues to facilitate funding for Florida’s state and local housing programs. Ross will address her new book “Creating Inclusive Communities in Florida,” covering topics such as affordable housing, how it’s developed and why it should be included in the community.
The luncheon will be held on Thursday, July 21 at the RASM south office. The lunch is from noon to 12:30 p.m., with the seminar to follow. RASM members and the public can attend for $5. Nonmembers can register by contacting Catherine McCaskill at catherine@myrasm.com or (941) 952-3404.
This event is sponsored by My Florida Regional MLS, Pillar to Post Home Inspections (Steve Williamson Team) and Peace of Mind Home Inspections. For additional information, please visit www.MyRASM.com/affordablehousing.
