ORLANDO, Fla. (April 1, 2020)— This afternoon, Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order calling for all Floridians to stay home except to obtain essential services. This order is effective tomorrow at midnight.

Per the order, residential and commercial real estate, including settlement services, are considered essential. Although members may continue to operate, they are not required to do so.

If you choose to continue working in order to provide shelter to Floridians, you must abide by the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These include washing your hands often; avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands; and keeping distance between you and others.

Note that this statewide order supersedes stay-at-home orders already in place in a number of Florida counties.

“As we continue to walk through these unprecedented times, we need to remember that we are all in this together,” says Florida Realtors President Barry Grooms. “Florida Realtors has built a COVID-19 Resource center that is updated daily. We will continue to keep you updated.”
