Frequently Asked Questions
When are dues billed, how do I pay them, and what is the due date for payment?
Annual dues invoices are posted to members’ accounts in November and are due by 5 p.m. on December 16. Members are notified by an email stating that the invoices are available to view, print, and pay. To pay your dues, log in to your My RASM Portal at myrasm.com to find your invoice. This video provides an overview of how to locate your invoice and complete your payment. We only accept online credit card payments, checks and cash will not be accepted.
Payment is due on December 16, 2024, and after 5 p.m. on January 15, 2025, a $50 late fee will be added to your invoice and member services will be temporarily suspended.
What happens if I don't pay by December 16?
After December 16, a 30-day grace period will begin. You have until the end of the 30-day grace period (January 15 at 5 p.m.) to complete your payment before a $50 late fee is added.
If your 2025 Annual Dues are NOT paid by 5 p.m. on February 18, 2025, your REALTOR® membership will be terminated and you must reapply as a new member, pay the $75 reinstatement fee, a $30 processing fee to Florida REALTORS® and all amounts due at the date of termination.
If membership services are interrupted (i.e. access to the MLS) for non-payment, it may take up to 72 business hours for service to be restored.
Does my membership renewal include my Global or Commercial dues?
If you are a member of the Global Business Council ($25) and/or the Commercial Real Estate Alliance ($75), you will also see your annual membership dues for these groups. You need to pay these separately to renew your membership in these groups.
Is the renewal process the same for Business Partners?
How do Business Partners pay their dues?
Business Partners will also pay their dues in the My RASM Portal and must renew before 5 p.m. on February 18, 2025 to be included in the newest edition of the Business Partner Directory.
As a broker, what are the consequences with agents who don't renew or are no longer with the company?
What do I do if an agent is no longer with our brokerage?
Brokers need to remove the agent’s license from their firm in their DBPR account and then notify RASM that the agent is no longer with their firm.
What is the consequence for brokers if agents in their office fail to pay on time?
If your agent does not pay by 5 p.m. on February 18, their invoice will be transferred to the broker’s account and the agent will be turned into a non-member salesperson. If a broker still has open invoices on their account after March 15, their office is at risk of losing its member services.
As an Emeritus member, do I still need to pay my dues?
As an Emeritus member, you are no longer invoiced for Local, State, National or MLS dues. We do give you an opportunity to invest & contribute to RPAC and RASM's REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. If you elect not to contribute, your invoice will be removed in February.
What if I do not plan on renewing my RASM membership?
If you are a primary member and do not plan to renew your membership, please contact your broker so they can update your license and notify RASM. If you are a Secondary member or a Designated Broker of the Association and you are keeping your license, but DO NOT plan on renewing your RASM membership, please email membership@myrasm.com stating you are terminating your Association membership.
What fees are included in each dues billing?
The annual billing includes local, state, and national dues, plus a voluntary RPAC and RRCF contribution. You can view the billing disclosures here.
I thought I paid my dues in May?
Your Stellar MLS dues, which were due by May 21, 2024, are separate from RASM dues. RASM's annual billing does not include MLS fees, which are billed by Stellar MLS in the spring, or Supra ActiveKeys, which are billed by UTC Fire & Security each summer.
Why must I pay my dues online?
An electronic payment system was instituted several years ago to provide the most efficient, cost-effective processing method. Payment must be submitted in the My RASM Portal by credit or debit card. Payments are processed through the e-commerce Network of National Association of REALTORS®, a trusted and secure site that meets or exceeds all government safety and security standards.
Is it possible to only pay local and state dues and not NAR dues?
REALTOR® means member of the National Association of REALTORS®. Therefore, all REALTORS® belong to the National Association of REALTORS® and agree to abide by our Code of Ethics. In order to maintain REALTOR® membership, members must pay local, state, and national association dues and assessments. There is no ability to bifurcate membership between local, state, or national associations.
I see that other brokerages are no longer requiring their agents to be members of NAR. How do I implement this change at my brokerage?
The decision to require agents to be members of NAR has always been at the discretion of the broker. NAR cannot and does not require brokers to mandate membership in the REALTOR® organization.
Is NAR membership mandatory?
Your broker and Independent Contractor Agreement is what dictates whether or not you are asked to join and maintain membership in the REALTOR® Association. According to the Three-Way Agreement, in order to maintain REALTOR® membership, members must pay local, state, and national association dues and assessments.
Are there any REALTOR® associations that I can join that don't require me to belong to NAR?
The term REALTOR® is a registered trademark of the National Association of REALTORS® and only local and state associations enforcing NAR's trademark, membership qualifications, and Code of Ethics are considered REALTOR® associations. All local and state REALTOR® association members are members of the National Association of REALTORS®.
I’ve heard that certain brokerages like RE/MAX and Anywhere Real Estate Inc., are severing ties with NAR. What does that mean?
The brokerages you’re referencing did not announce that they are severing ties with NAR. You could be referring to the recent settlement agreements that RE/MAX and Anywhere Real Estate, Inc. reached with the Plaintiffs in the lawsuit Burnett et. al v. National Association of REALTORS® et. Al. In that proposed settlement, those companies agreed to remove the membership requirement from their franchisor agreements, thus leaving the decision to belong to NAR to each of their independent franchisees. If these independent brokerages find value in belonging to the local, state, or national association, then they will continue to belong.
