SARASOTA, FL (November 11, 2016) – The Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) honored veterans at a Military Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, November 10.
“We often say that Realtors® are dedicated to protecting the American dream of homeownership,” said Linda Formella, RASM 2016 President. “But, without the brave men and women who fought to protect all dreams and freedoms, our efforts to fight for homeownership would not be possible.”
The luncheon included a presentation of the colors from VFW Post 3233, special remarks from Congressman Vern Buchanan and Senator-Elect Greg Steube, and the presentation of a dedicated plaque to recognize members bestowed with the highest military honors. This plaque will hang in the RASM office to serve as a reminder of the great men and women who have served.
The Association surveyed its membership to record the members who have served and continue to serve. The survey reported nearly 190 veterans within RASM membership. More than 50 of those attended the Military Appreciation Luncheon to be honored and thanked for their service. This was the first military event of its kind presented by the Association.
