kathyroberts-photoSARASOTA, FL (November 11, 2016) – The Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) announced that CEO, Kathy Roberts, will be retiring at the end of 2017 after a career of over 40 years with Realtor® Associations in Kansas and Florida, twelve of them at RASM. She joined the Sarasota Association of Realtors® in 2006, moving here after three years at the Miami Association of Realtors®. She previously served as CEO in Topeka, Kansas for 17 years and Wichita, Kansas for 10 years.

“As you can imagine, Kathy has witnessed many changes in the industry, and has accumulated many accomplishments over the years. Most recently, she supervised the 2013 construction of a state of the art building in Sarasota County and administered the successful merger of the Sarasota Association and the Manatee Association of Realtors® in 2015,” said Linda Formella, 2016 RASM President.

RASM has engaged Jerry Matthews, Strategic Consultant, to assist the transition team in the national search for a successor to manage the 6,000-member organization. The process will begin in March 2017.

Roberts said it has been a real privilege working at Realtor® Associations, and especially with RASM. “I feel fortunate to be closing this chapter of my life with such a great organization. I’ve had the opportunity to work with the best of the best and I know that RASM has a great plan in place to identify my successor. I look forward to assisting the leadership to ensure a smooth transition,” said Roberts.
