SARASOTA, Fla. (October 5, 2020) – The Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) launched a consumer marketing campaign with a “time to sell” theme. Launching today, the campaign will inspire residents to take advantage of the current residential market in Sarasota and Manatee counties by listing their home with a local Realtor®.
The multi-media campaign was born out of declining inventory coupled with increased demand from buyers. The goal of the campaign is two-fold: to encourage residents to sell their home and to bring awareness to the value of using a local Realtor®, thus generating more available listings in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
“As inventory continues to be a challenge in our marketplace, the campaign will help promote to consumers that now, with low inventory and high demand, is the time to sell and to reach out to a RASM Realtor®,” said David Clapp, 2020 President of the Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee.
With record-low interest rates incentivizing buyers to enter the market and higher sales prices than the prior year, now is the time to sell. Recent housing market reports show a rise in sales, prices, new listings, and pending sales all while spending fewer days on the market.
A seller’s market is indicated by the number of months it will take to deplete the current inventory given recent sales rates. The benchmark for a balanced market is 5.5 months’ supply of inventory, anything below is a seller’s market and anything above is a buyer’s market. According to monthly reports from RASM, the monthly supply has stayed below 5.5 months throughout 2020 and in August, it dropped to 2.2 months for single-family homes.
In addition to educating the public on current market conditions, the campaign motivates sellers to use a Realtor® when listing. Realtors® are committed to excellence and equipped with the training to provide ethical and smooth transactions, especially during a time when multiple offers are becoming more frequent.
Local Realtors® have extensive market knowledge and can offer advice and provide strategies on how to set the selling price, marketing strategies, and most importantly, how to keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Set to run through the end of the year, the campaign will engage with Sarasota and Manatee residents through various paid and owned media channels. In addition to these digital media channels, members of RASM will be encouraged to spread the message using the provided customizable advertising materials.
The multi-media campaign was created for RASM by Agency McKenna, a full-service marketing agency specializing in association marketing. To learn more about the campaign, visit myrasm.com/timetosell.
