SARASOTA, FL (July 24, 2020) – The Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) has committed to support families in Manatee County through a $5,000 donation to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. The donation will support construction projects and Manatee Habitat’s mission to continue to build safe, low cost homes to be purchase by local families with a zero percent interest loan. The donation was presented during an organized volunteer day for members of the Realtor® Association.

Both Realtors® and Manatee Habitat share the vision that everyone deserves a safe place to live. Diana Shoemaker, CEO of Manatee County Habitat for Humanity, thanked RASM volunteers for their service and continued support.

“We so appreciate our partnership with RASM,” said Shoemaker. “Members have been working with Manatee Habitat for several years and we are grateful for their continued support and for the hardworking volunteers who join us each year on the job site.”

In addition to the monetary contribution, the Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee will also provide member volunteers to Manatee Habitat throughout the year.

“We are very proud to continue our support to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity,” said David Clapp, 2020 President of the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee. “During this time of COVID-19, the shelter of one’s home has become even more important for safety and security. It’s exciting for us to partner with Manatee Habitat because we share the same value of homeownership for all.”

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical, volunteer-based organization with the mission to develop resources, educate and mobilize people to work alongside families in need, rehabilitating existing homes and building sustainable, affordable homes, thereby improving the quality of life in Manatee County.

The Realtor® Association of Sarasota and Manatee supports Manatee County Habitat for Humanity among other community organizations. As part of the RASM Gives Back program, the Association’s Board of Directors approves Community Partners in need of volunteer and financial support each year.
