RASM REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Donates $5,000 to Samaritan's Purse

SARASOTA, Fla. (February 24, 2023) – The RASM REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (RRCF), which is the charitable arm of the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM), has committed to supporting those affected by Hurricane Ian through a $5,000 donation to Samaritan’s Purse, a humanitarian aid organization that provides disaster relief to communities in need. The grant was extended in appreciation to Samaritan’s Purse for their community support over the past five months following the devastating storm. Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that provides physical aid to those in need around the world, whether it’s victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, or famine. The U.S. Disaster Relief arm of the organization has been in the Englewood area since September 29, 2022, and partnered with a local church and more than 3,000 volunteers to assist homeowners with cleanup and recovery after Hurricane Ian. Since their arrival to Florida, Samaritan’s Purse has been serving both Charlotte and Sarasota counties by mobilizing volunteers to help put tarps on roofs, clean up trees and debris, remove sheet rock and damaged materials, and to help pack up personal belongings for families whose homes could not be salvaged. The grant supports the larger effort of the RASM REALTORS®️ Charitable Foundation to provide financial aid in the wake of a natural disaster. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, the RRCF granted more than $21,000 to RASM members who suffered damage or extreme hardship from the storm and also supported the local American Red Cross with a $5,000 donation.
