Local REALTOR® Association Opens New Building in Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. (August 10, 2022) – On Friday, August 5, the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) celebrated the Grand Opening of a new office building in Bradenton, located at 2901 Manatee Ave West. This is a significant moment for the REALTOR® community, with many members familiar with this location, as it was once home to the former Manatee Association of REALTORS® before the merger with the Sarasota Association in 2015.

RASM purchased the building site at 2901 Manatee Ave. West in 2020, and later began work with Suarez Architecture and Halfacre Construction Company in 2021 to completely renovate the facility. The Association and its members celebrated the project’s completion at the Grand Opening Celebration on August 5, 2022. At the event, representatives from the Manatee Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting with the City of Bradenton’s Mayor Gene Brown.

“The opening of this beautiful state-of-the-art facility here in Manatee County is especially sweet in 2022, as this year we are celebrating our centennial anniversary since the founding of the Manatee Association,” said 2022 RASM President Tony Veldkamp, who helped lead the North Building Renovation Task Force. “We are excited that RASM North is officially open, so that we can better serve our growing membership, and have a home in both of the counties that we represent.”

Known to members as “RASM North,” the new office is a member service facility for education classes, meetings, a REALTOR® Store and more. The state-of-the-art facility features a multimedia auditorium and meeting space that is also available for the public to rent. The 7,560-square foot building is the second full-sized RASM member facility, in addition to the Sarasota site (RASM South) at 2320 Cattlemen Road. This additional building supports the growing membership in the two-county region, with both locations serving all members within the Association’s jurisdiction of Manatee and Sarasota counties.

RASM would like to extend a special thanks to members Roger Piro, Craig Copeman, Tony Veldkamp, David Clapp as Chair of the North Building Renovation Task Force, and Jeff Arakelian as Staff Liaison for their work in completing the RASM North renovation project.
