REALTOR® Association Supports Heroes Welcome Home with $5,000 Donation

The Commercial Real Estate Alliance (CREA) of the REALTOR® Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM) hosted a Sporting Clays Tournament in April, raising $10,162 for two local charities. 50% of the proceeds will benefit Heroes Welcome Home and the other 50% will benefit the RASM REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. Presented at a CREA membership meeting on June 18, the $5,081 donation to Heroes Welcome Home will go toward the organization’s mission to assist Veterans throughout the home-buying process.

“We are very fortunate to have supporters like the Commercial Real Estate Alliance at RASM that give back to our veteran community,” said Tony Barrett, Founder and CEO of Heroes Welcome Home. “These funds will continue to support our mission of home ownership, rental assistance, and repairs for our disabled or elderly veterans.”

Both REALTORS® and Heroes Welcome Home understand the importance of homeownership and having a safe place to live. Heroes Welcome Home acknowledges the sacrifice endured by these brave men and women and aim to support their efforts to secure stable housing by offering financial assistance, rental and utility deposits, and repair and maintenance needs. In addition to the monetary contribution, the RASM Community Outreach Committee hosted a volunteer day with Heroes Welcome Home to help a veteran with yard maintenance and repairs after the impact left by Hurricane Ian.

The donation was raised at CREA’s annual Sporting Clays tournament and contributed through the RASM REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to provide funding to local housing-related charitable organizations tackling affordable housing, fighting homelessness, or providing shelter.
