RASM Leadership Academy

The RASM Leadership Academy is a rigorous program designed to develop emerging REALTOR® leaders who want to get involved, make a difference, grow their business, and expand their leadership skills.

The Leadership Academy empowers participants to maximize their leadership potential, set new goals and capitalize on strengths through a series of team-based and interactive training. Our Leadership Academy offers REALTOR® members the opportunity to learn new skills and prepare for future leadership roles on committees, the RASM Board of Directors, as well as leadership positions with Florida REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.

Participants will learn from some of the brightest talent in the industry and past graduates will serve as mentors.

Welcome Orientation Luncheon – April 10 | 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This first session will provide Leadership Candidates the opportunity to meet and get to know each other. During lunch, Candidates will be welcomed by 2023 President, Brian Tresidder and CEO, Jeff Arakelian. Professional headshots and a group photo will be taken and candidates will be paired with their mentors. At the end of the day, candidates will have a clear understanding of the program and its expectations.

Team Building/Low Ropes – April 11 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Formerly known as “low ropes,” this Portable Challenge Course is designed to foster skills such as leadership, trust, communication and teamwork. The candidates will experience a set of physical and mental challenges and will work together to problem-solve, resolve conflict and overcome obstacles.

Advocacy and Economic Panel – May 24 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Candidates will attend a Board of Directors meeting to see planning and boardroom protocol in action and how the strategic plan and meeting agendas guide our leaders. RASM’s Government Affairs Director will discuss the role of REALTORS® in influencing policy matters and the laws regarding real estate and private property rights. A unique opportunity for networking and discussion among industry leaders and members of the business community. Lunch will be provided.

Communicating Clearly and the Art of Conversation, June 5 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

This highly interactive hands-on session with keynote speaker, Anthony Huey will teach you effective ways to communicate your message to a wide variety of audiences you deal with everyday. How you communicate is everything from casual conversation to formal presentation. Attendees will leave with confidence to create content-driven presentations, use body language effectively, read and engage an audience, leave a memorable impression, successfully present to a team and so much more. Also includes a session on how to present yourself on Zoom and video

Past Presidents Panel & Winning Attitude Presentation – June 26 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The session provides a unique opportunity for networking and discussion among past presidents of our association. Information and insights from leaders on their leadership journey, followed by a presentation of having a winning attitude. Lunch is included.

FREC Visit, Orlando – July 26 | 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This trip aims to inform REALTORS® about the procedure given the numerous violations of Chapter 475 that they are unaware of. This tour provides information on FREC processes in case you ever need to appear before this committee as a result of a complaint made against you by a member of the public or another licensee that is found to have merit.

NAR L.E.A.D Vision Training – August 3 | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The all-new REALTOR® Learn. Elevate. Accelerate. Deliver (L.E.A.D.) Vision Course was designed by REALTOR® leaders for REALTOR® leaders, and will focus on creating a well-informed strategy for effectively creating a vision, identifying your style of leadership, and building your skills in active listening and authentic communication.

Florida Realtors Convention and Expo, Orlando – August 16 & 17 | 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Known as the premier event for serious REALTORS®, every August the FR Convention & Expo offer opportunities to boost business and the bottom line. Learn success strategies from top industry leaders, the latest trends in high-tech devices and a chance to network with other real estate professionals. This event requires participants to register on their own and pay applicable fees.

Annual Meeting and Education Conference – September 21 | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Participants are invited to the RASM Annual Meeting and the Educational Conference. This is a one-day event that offers multiple real estate educational tracks based on different areas of interest. Each track will deliver intensive educational experiences that, at the end of the day, will be not only actionable but incredibly valuable.

Graduation, Final Presentation, Alumni Event – September 28 | 4 – 8 p.m.

2023 Participants will present their final projects followed by a graduation ceremony. The Alumni event is also an opportunity to build and strengthen your career relationships and network and socialize with past Leadership Institute participants. Share your experiences, exchange career tips, and build your professional network!
